Except for floors, it is done!

It seems like it has been such a long time, but in the grand scheme of things only 4 1/2 months.  The last room is done.  We now only have the carpet to put in and we can start moving in.  I can not wait.............

So, here is a before:

and after.

Just clean up and carpet left. We are putting a ceiling fan in there too. This will be Bek's room.  She picked out the paint and got the curtains. Thanks Bek!

I finally finished the island.  Well, kinda.  I still need to replace the top.  Here are before and after pics:

I used the leftover colors from the kitchen.  It is old but still in pretty good shape.  Lots of storage!!
I checked and they still have the same counter top to match the kitchen.  Will use that on top.
Thanks for your help Jeff!
On to the floors....

Last inside paint job!!!!

The last room is painted and almost done!!

All that is left is the trim, base boards, and light.  Of course, carpet too.

I have gone back to work on the kitchen island.  It is a piece that was left in the house by the previous owner.  It looks handmade and it can be salvaged so what the heck.  I am making it my island.

I am using all leftover paint for this so we will see what I come up with?????
Till next time!

Headed toward home.

Last room progress always seems to take the longest.  Maybe it is because we always seem to leave the hardest things to accomplish for the the last item to finish, other than the carpet.
Jeff went yesterday and moved the ceiling fan to the family from the master bedroom.

Looking good.

He also did the ceiling and crown in the master.

Almost ready for primer, then the paint.  Bekah picked out the color herself (this will be "her room") and bought some curtains for the room. :-) They will go perfect with the pictures and decor I have for this room. Yay.  The color is a pale yellow.  I have blues, greens, and yellows going in there so it will look good when it is done.
Everyone got to see the house this week and we got a thumbs up all around, even from Tommie.  I can not wait to live there......

Git er done.

The drywall is all up in the last room. Yea!!

Looking good.  He will start to work on the joints next time.

He put my friends up....

This ledge is up above our front porch.  There obviously used to be something there...Don't know if it was a wasp's nest or a bird nest.  Anyway, if you want to keep unwanted birds away, use a fake one.  It works.  I used to have them going in our paper box but then I put a fake bird in there and they stayed away for good.
Jeff stapled the cards they came on right to the ledge so they would stay put.

I came home today and this is what I saw hanging on the hall tree.
Only 8 days until it is official.  He got his cap and gown today.  The orange is the AP stole and the cord is the NSHSS cord.  He will get a couple more and that will be it.
Alrighty, gonna go.  Have a great day!

El Cuarto Ultimo.

Jeff went over to the house yesterday.  He had taken all the paneling off the walls and took it to the dump.  He bought the drywall yesterday and started on that for the last room of the house to be done, other than carpet.  Here is a before pic:
It has textured wallpaper on the walls so we are just taking those out and putting in drywall.
Here are some pics he took yesterday.
That drywall just fit in the car.  He bought 10 sheets.
He also figured out that the house used to have individual electric heaters in each room.  See that patch there?  It was where the unit was housed.  There is one in each room we have done so far, but until he took the paneling off did not know what it was.  You can see the old wire in the wall where it was hooked up.  It is the black one there with the red cap on the end.
Here is the first one he got up.
He had other things to do over there, so this is how far he got.  Great work honey!  So he left and on his way home down by a creek on the way out he saw.....
dead in the middle of the road. This is not a worm.  It was a big snake.  Jeff said about 4 ft. long.   It was a couple miles from the house, so I am not worried.  I think.
I am so glad he stopped and got a pic.
That is all we have for now.  Till next time....
